Biography
Karl Verstrynge is a professor of philosophy and applied ethics at the Department of Philosophy and Moral Sciences and the Department of Communication Studies at the VUB. He is the director of the Centre for Ethics and Humanism and chairman of the Editorial Board of Kierkegaard Werken vzw. His publications focus mainly on existentialism (most notably Kierkegaard) and existentialist themes. He also conducts research into media-ethical issues, in particular the questions of digitization, the ontological status of virtuality and the issue of virtual identity.
